To My Dearest Sister Eryn...

My younger sister is graduating from High School on Friday. She has worked so hard and will even be the salutatorian of her class. My family and I could not be more proud of her!

Eryn, as you start this new chapter of your life I wanted to share a few things I learned in college. My dearest sister always remember your H.E.A.R.T.S.

H- Hold on to your faith. Your faith will get you through both good and bad times. It will also help    you find the plan God has for you.

E- Enjoy your time in college! Before you know it, the next four years will fly by. Have some fun! ( 100% legal fun...I know you wouldn't do anything like that, but I have to put the disclaimer;)

A- Always remember to call Mom and your sister too! You will always be one of Mom's little girls. Both her and I just want to be part of your life always:)

R- Remember to pray. Don't only hold on to your faith, but grow your faith. You have such a great relationship with God, and I can't wait to see how he uses you!

T- Take time to make great friends. Those friendships could last a lifetime, and bring a lot of laughter and happiness to your life.

S- Smile! You have a smile that brings such joy to the world. Heaven knows that the world could always use more joy!

Sis you have become a remarkable woman who is not only intelligent but strong. You make me laugh more than anyone else in the world! I can not wait to see the plans God has for you. I know one thing for sure, God is going to use you for amazing things.

Congragulations Eryn! You are amazing! I love you!

Love Always,
Alix

Ten Important Things My Mother Taught Me

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Let me tell you, I have one amazing Mother. I have also been blessed to have several Mother figures growing up too.

My Mom has always been an inspiration to me, and I am glad to say she is one of my best friends. My Mother has taught me so many things in my 22 years on this earth. Today, I thought of ten really important things that she has taught me.

1) Happiness is a choice that you must make everyday, choose wisely,

2) Be thankful for every single day, each one is a blessing.

3) Be responsible, God gave you a brain use it.

4) You are more capable that you lead yourself to believe.

5) Family is very very very important. They are worth any sacrifice you may have to make.

6) Show love to everyone regardless of any circumstance.

7) Always try to see both sides of an issue. You will always be well informed.

8) Respect yourself, your family, your friends, and everyone around you.

9) We are all children of God, no one is better than another.

10) Finally, remember to pray every single day. Many times a day even. God is with you always, you might as well talk to Him!

My Mother is so very remarkable, and I am so blessed to call her Mom.

While I cant be with her on Mother's Day, I wanted her to know, that I love her so very much. I cant begin to express my gratitude for all that she does.

Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you!

(Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms out there. Thank you for all that you do!)

Love Always,
Alix

Weekend Recap

The last two weeks have been entirely crazy. On top of work things we have done two road trips in the last two weekends. Here is what happened:

My sister went to prom, and of course I had to be there to see it! I took tons of pictures and showed them around the office, yes, I was that person.

The evening of prom I got to see my best friend Brynn. Every girl should have a friend like her, every time I see her its like we were never apart.

Of course I enjoy these long drives because Ben is my favorite traveling buddy.

Fast forward to last weekend.

This happened:

My brother got engaged to his amazing fiance Anna. Jacob got a great catch! We are all so very excited for the two of them. (Jake is pretty great too;)

We went to Phoenix on Saturday to go see Tonya and Carl get married. It was a beautiful wedding!

I apologize for the horrible picture.

We stayed the night in Phoenix, it was so relaxing. Ben and I both needed some time away with each other if only for a night. I was so very grateful for the time.

On Sunday I went to a bridal shower for my dear friend Esther who will be getting married in June. It was so very wonderful to see her! Its been over a year, and soon she will be married and moving to China for two years. There her and her husband Josh will be teaching english there and doing the Lord's work.

Needless to say, we are exhausted. It was completely worth it though. This weekend we are looking forward to going no where!

Love Always,
Alix
