Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! This time of year reminds us of what we have to be thankful for.

So here are ten things I am thankful for not only today but everyday!

1) Benjamin! My husband is not only better than I could have prayed for,he can fix anything. Computers, dinning room tables you name it he can fix it! I am so very in love with him and I can't wait to see our future adventures unfold.

2) A job. Not having one for a while gave me great perspective.

3) A relationship with God. He always has a great plan that's WAY better than mine.

4) My parents and siblings. I could not ask for a better family to grow up with.

5) My in-laws I'm so blessed to be part of such a wonderful and welcoming family.

6) Iced Chi Tea

7) Technology, how cool is it that we can see and talk to someone across the world?!

8) Running

9) Warm blankets ( we are in Flagstaff for the weekend.)

10) Our friends I don't know what we would do without you!

I could go on forever, but I'm sure you have a Thanksgiving to spend with loved ones!!!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

Loving Lately: Coats!

Here in Arizona, fall decided to come to the party on Saturday. ( FINALLY) Now that jackets are needed I have found so many great ideas! I am linking up here.

Loft
I love the cut of this coat. I dont look great in yellow, but I know there are some who look great in it!

Kohls
I love the color and texture of this coat.

Ann Taylor
Who doesn't love a trench coat?! If for any other reason you look and feel mysterious while you where it!
Old Navy
The faux leather jacket fit really well when I tried it in the store the other day. I really liked how comfortable it was while being a little more put together.

There were so many great items made in different colors, materials, and cuts. Therefore I felt the need to put all of them on here!!!! Have a great Tuesday!

Love Always,
Alix

Follow His Plan....

Via
As some of you know, I went to college with one idea in mind. I wanted to be a medical doctor. After careful consideration and prayer I decided while I could handle the responsibility, I didn't want it.

I then set my sites on pharmacy school. I studied for my chemistry degree, took the appropriate testing, and applied my senior year. While I was applying, I realized my heart was just not in to becoming pharmacist. As you can imagine, I did not get into pharmacy school. Once I had found out I was sad but relieved. God had shut that door, which ment there was another one open somewhere.

Ben and I got married after graduation, and I moved to Tucson AZ to be with him. Everything was going great, but for the first time in my life I had no plan. My entire life, I had a plan for the future that I carefully followed.

After months of looking for a job and not even receiving an interview I became discouraged. I decided to volunteer at a hospital to do something worthwhile with my time. I was placed in the Labor and Delivery unit, and in Human Resources.

It was there in the Human Resource department that I was offered a job. A job I didn't even apply for! God literally handed me my job. I now work in recruitment and have really enjoyed it. I get to help people everyday and build trusting relationships.

Where does this leave me now? Honestly, I have no clue what to do next. I have always wanted to go to grad school, but I dont know what I would want to go to school for. I am more confused now than ever. However, every time I get discouraged, I am reminded about Abram.

In Genesis 12:1 Abram was commanded:
"The LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show to you."

Abram didn't have a clue as to where he was going. He was asked to leave all things familiar and to trust God to lead him to where he should go. Abram then picked up his family and followed God to the land he had for him.

I admire Abram's obedience and his faith in God. To leave everything behind and follow God where ever he may lead sounds extremely challenging to me. Yet Abram did it! If you read on further, you see how immensely blessed Abram became.

I may have no idea where God is directing my life, but he does have a plan. Its a great plan too. So friend, if you find your self in this boat with me, dont be discouraged. Our God cherishes you and has a marvelous plan for your life! As long as we do everything to His glory, and keep close to Him we cant go the wrong way.

Another week has come and gone already!!!!

Jacob, Eryn, and I we look a little related huh?

1) Watching my sister in her school production of Elizabeth&Darcy. It's a take off of Pride and Prejudice.  Eryn was Elizabeth Bennett, and she was absolutely phenomenal!!! Plus my Grandmother surprised me by showing up in Holbrook! It was so great to see my family!

2) Carving pumpkins with my husband, sister, brother, and Anna Jake's girl friend.

3) Arizona sunsets ( This picture does not do it justice.)

4) Impromptu date night at the Old Spagetti Factory in Chandler.

5) Bought this necklace at Target this week. ( I have already worn it twice...) I received a gift card for completing the Live Well fitness challenge at work.

This picture has nothing to do with anything.  It just makes me smile.

How was you week? Have any adventures? Im linking up here.

High Five For Friday

1) Pumpkin Carving!!! Ben's pumpkin turned out really great! This is what happens when I have glitter and a pumpkin.....

2) Blueberry-Lemon Cheese cake bar. I promise I did share it with Ben!

3) Reverse trick-or-treat in the pediatric unit at the hospital I work at. I loved getting dressed up and watching the kids faces light up. There was something about their joy that was so magical and contagious!

4) Made it 3.2 miles on my run this week. For the first time in my life, I can run a full 5K! It may seem like a little accomplishment, but we have to take it one step at a time!

5) I rescued this little guy from the screen of our neighbors window. I wanted to keep him so badly, but I just knew he had to belong to someone.

How was your week?! I hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend!

For those of you who endured this storm this week on the east cost, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
