On Sunday my sister turns 18.....I can't believe how fast that happened! For her 18th birthday I wanted to point out 18 wonderful things about my sister Eryn.

1) This kid is funny, I don't mean pity laugh funny. She is hilarious, she cracks me up every time I talk to her.
2) She talks faster than anyone I know. I don't think she even has to breathe.
3) She is determined. She can do anything she sets her mind to.
4) She says sarcastic things in the sweetest tone. Half the time most people don't even catch her sarcasm till she is long gone.
5) She has a huge heart.
6) She is so intelligent!
7) She is never ashamed to dance with me in the grocery store. ( A good song comes over the intercom every once in a while!)
8) She loves awkward situations.
9) She has a different favorite color each week.
10) She is oblivious to how beautiful she is inside and out.
11) She is so brave, she squished a spider once. I saw it.
12) She sees joy in the little things, like splashing in puddles.
13) She loves her rain boots.
14) She loves to read, and then enlighten me with all she learned. It saves me a lot of time;)
15) She is a gifted writer. Her stories are amazing.
16) She loves cowboy boots and bright colors.
17) She tolerates my ramblings.
18) Most of all, Eryn is awesome because, well she is Eryn.

Valentines Day Swap

I had the opportunity to join a blog swap for Valentines Day. These swaps are so much fun, because I get to meet new bloggers, and possibly make a new friend. My swap partner was Heidi from Heidi's Heart .

Heidi is the sweetest, and I am blessed to even know her. She has an incredible and inspiring story, that just warmed my heart. After exchanging some emails with her it was clear to see her passion for life, and her heart of gold. She sees beauty in all things and is so thoughtful. I am so glad I have made a new friend!

When I saw the pretty polka dotted package in the mail I got so excited I may have danced around a little. (Trust me it was not pretty, but how else does one express joy?)

Heidi sent me these:

-Print that she made for me!!! I LOVE THIS!!!! (She is an art teacher, an incredibly gifted one.)
-A head band that she made for me! How talented is she?!
-Nail Polish, the color is perfect for Valentines Day!

I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know Heidi, and I am sure I will get to email her some more! Heidi, thank you for everything, you are so thoughtful and talented! I am so blessed by you!

Jewelry Storage

A few weeks ago, I had time to organize some of my jewelry. We have had this little book case in our apartment for sometime, and I thought it would be the best place to put my jewelry. To store everything,  I put together somethings that are meant to store jewelry, and some things that may have not been created for that purpose originally.

I found the display case at TJ Maxx in the clearance section. When I first bought it, the case was scuffed up a bit and it was white. I went ahead and gave it a few coats of grey paint and some new hardware. (My husband actually found the door pull, thanks Ben!)

Ben also found the necklace stand for me at World Market. I have a thing for birds, trees, and leaves.

The Piano Box was a gift, again from my lovely husband, from last year. I use it to store most of my earrings, it has a lot of little compartments that keep everything organized. I also used an upside down canning jar to store my bangles.

Fun Fact: I love Nancy Drew Books! 

Eventually, this jewelry storage turned into my little corner of the apartment. I have most of my books here as well as my card box that my best friends mom made for me.

It was a lot of fun putting this together, plus it makes getting ready in the morning a lot easier!

High Five For Friday...It has been way to long.

Hey! Remember me? I used to blog, and then life got crazy...and I disappeared for a while? Im back! I have had a crazy busy schedule, but it has been so fun! I am going to pull a few things from the last few weeks. Happy Friday!

1) Doing the color Run with my sister and Dad. They did awesome! It poured the entire time. We almost ran the entire thing, and my Dad through a granola bar at my head thinking it was a color packet. Nice one Dad.

2) Illiana Joci and her Mom, Alyssa, (one of my best friends) came and stayed with us. Then I got to go stay with them an Lys' family for the weekend. I love them both so much! I am going to be so sad once they leave for Germany again. This little girl just makes my heart sing.

3)One of my best friends from high school, Katie, had her second son Levi. I am so happy for her and her husband Ryan!

4)My husband is amazing.
